Le Sable et La Pierre

C'est l'histoire de deux amis qui marchaient dans le désert. A un moment, ils se disputèrent et l'un des deux donna une gifle à l'autre.

Ce dernier, endolori mais sans rien dire, écrivit dans le sable :

Aujourd'hui mon meilleur ami m'a donné une gifle.

Ils continuèrent à marcher puis trouvèrent un oasis, dans lequel ils décidèrent de se baigner. Mais celui qui avait été giflé manqua de se noyer et son ami le sauva. Quand il se fut repris, il écrivit sur une pierre : Aujourd'hui mon meilleur ami m'a sauvé la vie. Celui qui avait donné la gifle et avait sauvé son ami lui demanda : "Quand je t'ai blessé tu as écrit sur le sable, et maintenant tu as écrit sur la pierre. Pourquoi ?" L'autre ami répondit: "Quand quelqu'un nous blesse, nous devons l'écrire dans le sable, où les vents du pardon peuvent l'effacer. Mais quand quelqu'un fait quelque chose de bien pour nous, nous devons le graver dans la pierre, où aucun vent ne peut l'effacer.

Il était une fois un garçon avec un sale caractère. Son père lui
donna un sachet de clous et lui dit d'en planter un dans la barrière du jardin
chaque fois qu'il perdrait patience et/ou se disputerait avec quelqu'un.

Le premier jour il en planta 37 dans la barrière. Les semaines
suivantes, il apprit à se contrôler, et le nombre de clous plantés dans la
barrière diminua jour après jour: il avait découvert que c'était plus facile
de se contrôler que de planter des clous.

Finalement, arriva un jour où le garçon ne planta aucun clou dans la
barrière. Alors il alla voir son père et il lui dit que pour ce jour
il n'avait planté aucun clou.

Son père lui dit alors d'enlever un clou dans la barrière pour chaque
jour où il n'aurait pas perdu patience. Les jours passèrent et finalement
le garçon put dire à son père qu'il avait enlevé tous les clous de la
barrière.

Le père conduisit son fils devant la barrière et lui dit: "Mon fils,
tu t'es bien comporté mais regarde tous les trous qu'il y a dans la
barrière.

Elle ne sera jamais comme avant. Quand tu te disputes avec quelqu'un
et que tu lui dis quelque chose de méchant, tu lui laisses une blessure comme
celle-là.

Moralité

Tu peux planter un couteau dans un homme et après le lui retirer,
mais il restera toujours une blessure. Peu importe combien de fois tu
t'excuseras, la blessure restera.

Une blessure verbale fait aussi mal qu'une blessure physique.

Les amis sont des bijoux rares, ils te font sourire et t'encouragent.

Ils sont prêts à t'écouter quand tu en as besoin, ils te
soutiennent et t'ouvrent leur coeur.

I've received an email from a friend with some meaningful meanings and I actually noticed that they are true and that they suit me fine! Would like to share them with you... I would also like to have some comments on these

I love you not because of who you are, but because of who I am when I am with you.

No man or woman is worth your tears, and the one who is, won't make you cry.

Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.

A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.

The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them knowing you can't have them.

Never frown, even when you are sad, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile.

Don't waste your time on a man/woman, who isn't willing to waste their time on you.

There's always going to be people that hurt you so what you have to do is keep on trusting and just be more careful about who you trust next time around.

Make yourself a better person and know who you are before you try and know someone else and expect them to know you.

No brain cancer link to mobile phones, study says

Ten years of using a mobile phone results in no increased risk of a tumour in the nerve connecting the ear to the brain, researchers said on Tuesday.

But amid public concern about a possible link, the scientists who conducted the largest study so far on the subject said they could not rule out a higher risk over a longer period.

"The results of our study suggest there is no substantial risk in the first decade after starting use," said Anthony Swerdlow of the Institute of Cancer Research.

"Whether there are longer-term risks remains unknown, reflecting the fact that this is a relatively recent technology."

The study, published in the British Journal of Cancer, focused on the risk of acoustic neuroma, benign tumors which grow in the nerve connecting the ear and inner ear to the brain, close to where handsets are held.

Research has also investigated the possible association of other kinds of brain tumour with mobile phones but scientists say acoustic neuroma would be a prime candidate to be affected.

Previous independent studies have found mobile phone radiation may have some effect on the human body, such as heating up the brain and causing headaches and nausea.

But no study that could be independently repeated has proved mobile phones have permanent harmful effects and the mobile phone industry argues there is no conclusive evidence that electromagnetic radiation causes harm.

About 780 million mobile phones are expected to be sold this year, and nearly 2 billion people around the world use one.

The institute's analysis pooled studies conducted in Britain, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden -- all countries where mobile phones were introduced early.

Cancer charities welcomed the findings.

"However, it's important researchers continue to monitor phone users over coming years as mobiles are still a relatively new invention," said Cancer Research UK's Julie Sharp.

Lao-tzu(570?-490? BC), Chinese philosopher and reputed founder of Taoism. He was born in the province of Henan (Ho-nan) and was a court librarian. According to tradition, he is the author of the Tao-te Ching (Classic of the Way and Its Virtue), a philosophical treatise. By far the most translated Chinese literary work, this small book has had an enormous influence on Chinese thought and culture. It teaches that "the way" (tao) is realized through recognition and acceptance of nothingness; that is, wisdom is understanding that weakness truly equals strength, that happiness depends on disaster, and that passivity is the greatest action.

Ants!!!

I’ve received this message today from a friend:

“Please read on and advice your friends and family!! By doing this you may save others' lives!!

Incident 01:
A little boy died because surgeons found ants in his brain! Apparently this boy fell asleep with some sweets in his mouth or with some sweet stuff beside him. Ants soon got to him and some ants in fact crawled into his ear which somehow managed to go to his brain. When he woke up, he did not realize that ants had gone to his head. After that, he constantly complains about itchiness around his face. His mother brought him to see a doctor but the doctor could not figure out what was wrong with him. He took an X-ray of the boy and to his horror he found a group of live ants in his skull. Since the ants are still alive, the doctor could not operate on him coz ants were constantly moving about. The boy at last died. So please be careful when leaving food stuff near your bed or when eating in bed. This might attract ants. Most importantly, NEVER eat a sweet before going bed. You might fall asleep and suffer same fate as the little boy.

Incident02:

      Another similar incident happened in the hospital in Taiwan. This man was warded in the hospital and was constantly warned by the nurses not to leave food stuff by his bedside for there are ants about. He did not heed their advice. Ants finally got to him. His family members said that the man constantly complain about headaches. He died and a post mortem or autopsy was done on him. Doctors found a group of live ants in his head. Apparently, the ants had been eating bits of his brain.
      So friends, better be safe than sorry! Never leave food stuff beside your side when you go to sleep!!!!!

The Meaning of colours

Red

Dream Interpretation

Last year I had a unique dream…I will always remember this even though it occurred to me only once! It does not occur to me anymore for the time being. I woke up in such confusion that I wanted to know the interpretation of this dream! I browse through the Internet but did not find anything about it. Last night while I’m trying to decide what I would post today I made another search and…Bingo! I found a very good site simple and easy to understand. I, now, can put an interpretation on it. I’m relieved it’s not a negative interpretation.
